Indigenous Artist, Lou Bloomer, Creates Stunning Acknowledgement of Country Artwork for Kapitol Group

As our Reconciliation Action Plan continues to take shape, we're pleased to share our very own Acknowledgement of Country artwork, created for us by young Indigenous artist, Lou Bloomer.

Originally from Grafton in Northern NSW, Lou identifies herself as Bundjalung for the land she was born and grew up on, as well as Anaiwan and Kamilaroi, the nations of her ancestors.

We invited Lou to create two designs that reflect our industry and the constructed environment that we exist within. The artwork she created perfectly captures this context, with her innovative approach communicating the complexities of recognition and continuity that exist within our communities.

With its waved layers of filament, this piece is a representation of how we build and
construct in society. Like a colony of ants, we build in waves like civilisations through history.

We plan to share these artworks across all our sites, including at our head office in Melbourne.
