As part of our RAP commitment, the project team at Batard (located in Melbourne CBD) embarked on the Koori Heritage Trust Walk. The walk, guided by an experienced Koorie Guide, took us through Federation Square and down to the Common Ground - Birrarung Wilam, where we were able to take in Aboriginal art installations, experiencing the Aboriginal history of the Birrarung Marr and Aboriginal Peoples of the Kulin Nation.
The Koori Heritage Trust Walks acknowledges the pre-settlement boundaries of the traditional lands of south-eastern Australia, and through this walk along Birrarrung Marr - Kapitol Group and our clients were able to learn and understand the land they will be working on. It's not only important to acknowledge how the land has changed over time but to also take the time to gain a deeper and more meaningful understanding of this incredible location.
